DMUC Kampot Community Outreach Trip: Experiential Learning Beyond the Classroom

From 06th – 08th February 2026, De Montfort University Cambodia (DMUC) organised a Kampot Community Outreach Trip that gave students valuable experiential learning opportunities outside the classroom. The trip combined environmental activities, community engagement, industry exposure, and outdoor experiences to support holistic student development.

During the trip, students participated in mangrove planting at Trapeang Sangke, gaining first-hand experience in environmental sustainability and conservation. Community volunteering activities allowed participants to connect with local communities, fostering social responsibility, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Students also explored Kampot’s local industries through visits to pepper farms and strawberry farms in Bokor Mountain, learning about agriculture, entrepreneurship, tourism, and regional economic development. Outdoor activities such as kayaking, fishing, and group experiences encouraged collaboration, resilience, and student wellbeing.

Experiential trips like this help DMUC students apply academic knowledge in real-world contexts, develop essential soft skills, and build global perspectives. By combining education with meaningful experiences, DMUC continues to prepare students for future careers while nurturing responsible and socially aware graduates.
